Il Windsurfing Center Stintino nasce a Stintino nel 1987 per la grande passione di Roberto Tavazzi ITA 665 e Gianpaolo Unali ITA 674 per il windsurf e la vela, atleti che si sono distinti nei campi di regata nazionali e internazionali. Il centro opera da più di 30 anni con l'organizzazione di regate, stage didattici e corsi e ha formato un team di istruttori che con impegno e dedizione hanno preso per mano tanti allievi contagiando la voglia di vento e mare. Lo specchio acqueo della Pelosa davanti all'isola Asinara è un'oasi naturale che, per la sua conformazione, per le sue calme acque cristalline e turchesi, è lo spot ideale per apprendere velocemente i fondamenti di queste discipline, riservando in diverse occasioni anche ai più esperti condizioni da sogno. Appassionati di velocità sull'acqua anche nella vela con i catamarani il wcs si è dedicato alla classe di catamarani Hobie Cat 16. Sono arrivati poi nel 1998 al WCS i catamarani da regata come il Twin di 12 mt con il quale si è iniziata la scuola di vela d'altura e le prime escursioni nel Parco Nazionale dell'Asinara. Sempre nella vela particolare dedizione anche nella classe Optimist (le barchette per l'iniziazione dei bimbi già a 8 anni) e poi le derive Laser. Il Windsurfing Center Stintino oggi con la sua flotta di catamarani rappresenta la più importante realtà per le escursioni all'Asinara con tre barche da diporto e una al traffico passeggeri e con la sua scuola di vela e windsurf uno fra i più importanti centri velici della Sardegna.

Il team WCS è sempre impegnato nell'attività agonistica, in particolare nelle regate nazionali e zonali di slalom e nello speed dove nello spot delle Saline Pazzona trova un eccezionale palestra per sviluppare velocità da record, vedi GPS Speed Sardinia.

The center has been operating for more than 30 years with the organization of regattas, educational internships and courses and has formed a team of instructors, who with commitment and dedication, took many students by the hand, infecting the desire for wind and sea. The water surface of the Pelosa, in front of the Asinara island, is a natural oasis which, for its shape, for its calm crystalline and turquoise waters, is the ideal spot to quickly learn the fundamentals of these disciplines, reserving on several occasions even to the most experienced dream conditions. Speed enthusiasts on the water also in sailing with catamarans, the WCS has dedicated itself to the class of Hobie Cat 16 catamarans. Then came in 1998 the WCS racing catamarans such as the 12 m Twin with which the school started offshore sailing and the first excursions in the Asinara National Park. Always in sailing particular dedication also in the Optimist class (the boats for the initiation of children already at 8 years) and then the Laser drifts. The Windsurfing Center Stintino today with its fleet of catamarans represents the most important reality for excursions to Asinara with three pleasure boats and one for passenger traffic and with its sailing and windsurfing school one of the most important sailing centers in Sardinia .
